This week for literacy we have been doing life cycles this is my link for my turtle life cycle.
The last 3 weeks we have been doing a Cantamath projects and participating in team competitions. Cantamath is a math competition where you can enter things into different categories. You can make a poster, a project. Some people even make stuff with popsicle sticks. I chose to make a poster. I made one to show what the best angle to shoot a basketball at. I have learnt more about angles by just looking at it and knowing what acute and obtuse angles were. I showed resilience and success when I completed the poster after nearly giving up.

This is my essay about climate change. I have been learning how to structure my essay with main ideas(yellow) and supporting details.(green). We will be doing more work with essay writing in term 3.

Task Write a short paragraph using one of the metaphors above
I was running through the forest away from a wolf because I killed it brother. He got in the way of my shot of a deer that is how I got into this situation. I was running out of places to run when I found the edge of a cliff. The wolf wasn’t far behind me so I jumped. The snow cushioned me like a soft blanket so I managed to escape.
Today we did a metaphor task because everyone in our group gets similes and metaphors mixed up including me. The tasks were to write a sentence with metaphors. After that we had to write a paragraph with one of the metaphors I picked “the snow is a white blanket.”
This year we are learning about kaitiakitanga. Kaitiakitanga is where you take care of stuff and be a guardian to other peoples stuff if you want to see some of the other things learned click here. Last week on Friday we went to the junior playground to check it out. We found out that all the little kids stand on the plants and kick rocks out of the swale click here to hear me talk about what I saw.
I have been learning how to give a step by step description of the life cycle of a frog.
For Literacy I have used imperative verbs & adverbs with time conjunctions to write instructions.
