For inquiry we have been learning about cleaning products and what is in them. I chose to do Ajax Professional Bathroom. Some of the ingredients: Water Alcohols C10 – 12 Ethoxylated Phosphoric Acid Acidic Lactic Acid. I think that they should put ingredients on the bottle so they know if it’s harmful or not. I learned that it is harmful for humans and for the environment.

For science we have been learning about glaciers. Glaciers are made up of ice, snow and rocks. when glaciers start to melt the water in it starts to leave and make the water levels higher. Glaciers form from when snow falls in 1 location over many years. Glaciers are important because they can improve drinking water. The last time we had no glaciers was 26 million years ago. The most deadly glacier in the world is the Thwaities Glacier. The human impact on our environment from climate change to global warming has caused this effect to happen. If we did not have glaciers the global sea level would go up to about 70 meters about 230 feet.
This year we are learning about kaitiakitanga. Kaitiakitanga is where you take care of stuff and be a guardian to other peoples stuff if you want to see some of the other things learned click here. Last week on Friday we went to the junior playground to check it out. We found out that all the little kids stand on the plants and kick rocks out of the swale click here to hear me talk about what I saw.
