Yesterday 3 people from the Blake Organisation came to Tangaroa and presented a talk about ocean life and how humans have slowly polluted the ocean life. The Blake Organisation was founded by Sir Peter Blake, the famous NZ sailor who won the round the world races in all five legs.
I learnt about different oceans and how they can become polluted within a few years and kina eating all the seaweed and there not being enough fish from over fishing to eat the kina. so the ocean can become polluted.
Then we put on the VR headset and then first we went to Kermadec islands up in the north island and saw a lot of fish swing behind us to the left and right to us. And then we put the VR headsets down and then they talked about fishing and over fishing to stop over fishing we can only catch 5 fish a day.
